The Nature of
Fairies
Fairies have
a true love for beauty and splendor, the grace of movement, music, and take great pleasure in everything that is artistic.
They despise people who, in greed, drink the last drop of milk from the glass, or pluck the trees bare of fruit
and leave nothing for the creatures who wander by the light of the pale moon.
Be kind
and always leave some milk or drink in your glass for the fairies take great pleasure in gathering round
after the family is in bed to take part in their own feast.
If you treat them well,
the fae will happily bestow good fortunes and the mysteries of plant herbs may be revealed. For acts of kindness bestowed
upon the fae, fairy blessings will come in the form of good luck.
Fairies can
bestow great blessings, but if they are offended they may cast spells and cause mischievous trouble. Therefore
be kind to all, for they may be a fairy in disguise, who has come to test the depth of your charity. If you are proven to
be of a generous nature that gives out of pure love to those who are in need, and not in hopes of a reward, your blessing
will be bountiful and numerous.
The most popular pastimes of fairies
are music and dancing. At night the fairies would leave their homes to dance away the hours of darkness. They especially
love to dance in the evening of the full moon. Just before the mornings first rays of light touch the sky, the fairies vanish,
only to return again at twilight.
Humans have always been enraptured by the beauty
of fae dancing and enticed to watch them. But this is very dangerous, because if the fairies lure and trap a mortal,
they could be forced to dance until they collapse from complete exhaustion.
Fairy music
is much more melodious than human music and there are many songs and tunes which are said to have originated from the fae.
Many musicians of Europe learned their songs from the fairies.
